Starting the morning leisurely, we headed first to Fort San Domingo. This historic fortress, originally built by the Dutch, is known as Taiwan's oldest Western-style building. The red brick building and the sweeping view of the Tamsui River were truly impressive, and we enjoyed a quiet moment surrounded by an exotic atmosphere.
After that, we headed to the nearby Little White Temple. The beautiful white-walled colonial-style building made us feel like we were in a corner of the Mediterranean. Combined with the surrounding greenery, it's a truly photogenic spot. Here, we really got a feel for the fusion of Western architecture and Taiwanese history.
In the afternoon, we took a leisurely stroll through Tamsui Old Street. The retro-inspired streets are lined with traditional general stores and sweet shops, and we made many delightful discoveries just by strolling around. We thoroughly enjoyed our time sampling the area's local specialties, "A Gei" (a geisha) and "Tettan" (a type of egg).
