Taimu Mountain is a national geopark, low-key yet distinctive. Many people think it is the Tianmu Mountain mentioned in Li Bai's poetry, but that mountain is actually identified in Xianju, Zhejiang. Once you visit this mountain, you will want to come back.
Walking through Taimu Mountain, the first thing that moves me is not the flamboyant scenery, but the understated harmony. The deep green lake lies quietly at the foot of the peaks, reflecting the gray-white strange rocks and lush vegetation. The rocks have been weathered by the wind, layered like pages of an ancient book. The signal tower on the summit stands quietly amidst the greenery, without any clamor, highlighting the tacit understanding between heaven and earth.
Climbing high and looking far, the mountains, sea, and sky blend into one. In the dusk, the mountains gradually fade, their dark blue outlines merging with the horizon. In the distance, the shimmering waves resemble the sea, with scattered lights; looking up at the vines climbing the rock walls, the clouds reveal a deep blue, and the mountains stretch into the mist to the horizon, truly "where mountains and sea connect." Encountering travelers resting by the stones makes this scene even more suited to be savored slowly.
Brief Guide
- Transportation: Drive or take the high-speed train to Fuding, then transfer to a bus directly to the scenic area; the trails inside the mountain are quiet and pleasant, hiking is recommended for a detailed appreciation.
- Accommodation: The homestays at the foot of the mountain are simple, with green views from the windows; for convenience, there are also many hotel options in the city.
- Food: Must-try dishes include Fuding sliced pork and betel nut taro cake, light yet fresh and sweet, like the mountain breeze refreshing the soul.
