Together with its friend city Surakarta (Solo), Yogyakarta is the origin of civilization in Java. This city was once the throne that produced the magnificent Borobudur and Prambanan Temples in the 8th and 9th centuries and the seat of power of the Mataram kingdom in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Yogyakarta was once known by its slogan "Jogja The Neverending Asia" thanks to its extraordinary charm. Now, this city is also known as "Special Jogja" because of its beautiful values.
This city is one of several cultural centers in Indonesia. Every visitor can explore it by walking around the Keraton Museum (Sultan's Palace), chatting in the City Square, seeing the jewelry making process in Kotagede, to shopping in Malioboro.
There are many adventures that you can do in this relatively small but full of life city, one of which is chasing the sunrise at famous temples such as Prambanan and Borobudur in the neighboring city of Magelang.
