Kawaguchiko Station Area - Mt. Fuji, Japan

Kawaguchiko Station is located in Fujikawaguchiko, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, at the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi. It’s one of the highest train station in the world, sitting on an altitude of 857m.

This is an important landmark, as it’s the major transportation hub for travellers traveling to the Fuji Five Lakes region & Mount Fuji.

The station is surrounded by picturesque landscapes, including the iconic Mount Fuji, which towers majestically in the background. The area is known for its serene lake views, hot springs & access to hiking trails around Mount Fuji.

Kawaguchiko Station itself is a charming stop with facilities like tourist information centers, souvenir shops, & some very yummy eateries, making it an ideal starting point for exploring this scenic area.

You also do not want to miss snapping a photo with a retro train situated outside the station. Kawaguchiko Station is only accessible via Fujikyuko Line. There are 2 island platforms & a bus terminal in the vicinity.
