Exploring the Beauty of Lake Kawaguchiko: Gateway to Mount Fuji

Lake Kawaguchi, part of the Fuji Five Lakes, is one of the best places to see Mount Fuji up close. On a clear day, the mountain reflects perfectly on the lake, and the view honestly feels like stepping into a postcard.
The vibe here is peaceful and slow-paced—perfect if you need a break from Japan’s big cities. You can walk or cycle around the lakeshore, take a short boat ride, or ride the Mount Tenjo ropeway for sweeping views. Each season adds its own beauty: cherry blossoms in spring, fiery leaves in autumn, and snow framing Fuji in winter.
One of the best experiences is staying in a ryokan or hot spring hotel with a Fuji-facing view. Soaking in an onsen while watching the mountain is unforgettable. Even if you don’t stay overnight, there are public baths and foot onsens where you can still enjoy it.
