Weather Torii!

We came to Kawaguchi Sengen Shrine, which is listed as a World Cultural Heritage like Mount Fuji. It is located some distance from the bus stop. If you don't drive but just take the bus to catch your schedule, it is easy to miss this place. The huge torii gate and the forest of giant trees are very imposing. When you look up, it feels like you are being stared at by an ancient giant. Compared to other shrines, due to the large number of cedar forests and the lack of modern buildings nearby, it feels like entering a barrier and the air is particularly clean. After all, if you visit too many shrines, you will get a little tired of them, but this one has a unique sacred feeling.

Then after walking slowly for about half an hour, we came to the main topic of today. At first, I just wanted to visit the shrine, so I clicked on the area of Lake Kawaguchi on Google Maps, typed in the word "shrine" to see what I would find, and then the "Sky Torii" appeared. I talked about this with a friend who used to work at Kawaguchiko and he said he didn't know this attraction existed. After looking up some information, I found out that the remote worship center was newly built last spring after the hillside was leveled. The hillside is still in the preparation stage, and there is mud where your feet step, but it does not detract from the stunning scenery. All I could see was the Torii gate and the huge Mount Fuji. The view suddenly became clear, but it was a bit too dreamy. I really can't imagine anyone who wouldn't be attracted by this scenery.

At that time, including me, there were about seven or eight people taking turns taking photos. There were about ten people in line, but no one wanted to cooperate. However, they also suggested that we reserve more time and wait patiently. #Tokyo #Kawaguchiko #Mount Fuji #Torii #Shrine
