When visiting the foot of Mount Fuji, in addition to the Fuji Five Lakes, there are many other attractions, and Shiraito Falls (白糸の滝) located on the west side of Mount Fuji in Shizuoka Prefecture is one of them.
📍 273-1 Kamiiide, Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture
🚈 Take the bus from JR Fujinomiya Station towards Shiraito Falls and arrive in about 30 minutes.
Shiraito Falls is a waterfall located in Kamiiide, Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Visitors usually visit the nearby Otoshi Falls (音止の滝). It has been selected as one of the 100 best waterfalls in Japan and is also listed as a World Cultural Heritage Site. The water of Shiraito Falls mainly comes from the melted snow of Mount Fuji. It flows down from the top of a cliff about 20 meters high and 150 meters wide in waterfalls of different sizes, like many silk threads, so it is called "Shiraito Falls."
Most of the spring water flowing through here comes from Mount Fuji. The spring water flows gently along the winding rock walls like white silk. Since the water temperature here remains at 12 degrees Celsius all year round, the surrounding air also has a cool breath.
Shiraito Falls is broad rather than towering, calm rather than surging, and its gentle posture is like a woman, forming a sharp contrast with the bold and magnificent "Otoshi Falls" nearby, so it attracts many tourists to visit.
In addition to standing and watching the majestic waterfall, you can also sit in the restaurant and enjoy the view carefully while sipping ice cream. There are several restaurants near Shiraito Falls.

Remember to visit the Fuji Five Lakes and if you have time, don't miss this extremely beautiful waterfall!
