Xinjiang - Heavenly Lake of Tianshan (Sacred Water Altar)

Heavenly Lake of Tianshan is located in Fukang City, Changji Prefecture, Xinjiang, China. It is a high-altitude gem on the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains and a national 5A-level scenic spot. Surrounded by mountains, the lake's crystal-clear waters reflect the snow-capped peaks and drifting clouds, creating a fairy-tale-like paradise. On a hill overlooking the lake, there is a symbolic structure known as the Sacred Water Altar.

The Sacred Water Altar was designed to highlight the sanctity of Heavenly Lake as the source of the "sacred water of Tianshan." Constructed from green stone, the altar features a strong Central Asian and ancient Silk Road style. According to legend, this was the site where the Queen Mother of the West hosted banquets for immortals. The altar symbolizes harmony between heaven, earth, humanity, and nature. From the altar, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the lake and the main peak of Tianshan, Bogda Peak, making it one of the most popular spots for photography enthusiasts in the entire scenic area.
