I've been to Hiroshima many times, including on business trips, but this was my first time entering Hiroshima Castle.
When I went inside, it wasn't very large, but there were many exhibits and it was worth seeing. Helmets, armor, swords, etc. were on display, and it was easy to understand how people lived at that time.
There were also things below the castle that showed traces of the atomic bomb, which made me think about a lot of things.
From the castle tower, you can see the cityscape of Hiroshima and the Atomic Bomb Dome!
There is also a large shrine called Gokoku Shrine next to the castle, so I think it would be a good idea to visit it as well.
