Fukui Station is truly the gateway to "Dinosaur Kingdom Fukui."
From the moment you step off the train, you'll feel as if you've wandered into Jurassic Park.
🦖 Fukui Station West Exit: Dinosaur Plaza and Moving Dinosaurs
At the "Dinosaur Plaza" near the west exit, life-sized monuments of newly discovered dinosaurs from Fukui—"Fukuiraptor," "Fukuisaurus," and "Fukuititan"—welcome visitors. These dinosaurs are equipped with mechanisms that allow them to move and roar between 9 AM and 9 PM, offering an impressive experience.
Additionally, the west exit features a 5.6-meter-tall, 12-meter-long Tyrannosaurus robot that reacts to passersby and moves accordingly.
🦕 Fukui Station East Exit: Parent-Child Triceratops and Playground
The east exit is home to an 8-meter-long parent Triceratops and its child monument, making it a popular spot for families. There's also a "Dinosaur Playground" scattered with smaller dinosaur monuments like Ankylosaurus and Spinosaurus, where children can touch and take photos.
🦴 Dinosaur Content Inside and Around the Station
Inside Fukui Station, a large LED vision column displays 3D footage of a Tyrannosaurus leaping out, providing a thrilling visual experience.
On the rooftop plaza of the Fukui City Tourism Exchange Center, you'll find monuments themed around family love, including a pair of Fukuititan dinosaurs and baby dinosaurs.
Around the station, there are plenty of attractions for dinosaur enthusiasts, such as life-sized replicas of dinosaur footprint fossils and a massive mural depicting dinosaurs (approximately 45 meters wide and 10 meters tall).
Fukui Station and its surroundings are packed with must-see spots for dinosaur lovers. Once you step off the train, be sure to enjoy your encounters with these prehistoric creatures.
