Mount Monju, located in Tsuruga City, Fukui Prefecture, is a popular mountain that can be enjoyed by beginners and veterans alike, despite its low elevation of 365 meters. Known as one of Japan's three great temples, the Monju-do Hall, located at the summit, is beloved as the god of wisdom.

While there are several hiking trails, the most common is the "Fukuiguchi Trail" on the Tsuruga city side. The trail alternates between gentle and steep slopes, and it takes approximately one and a half to two hours to reach the summit. The observation deck along the way offers panoramic views of Tsuruga city and the Sea of ​​Japan. On clear days, visitors can enjoy a spectacular panorama that stretches all the way to Cape Echizen and Wakasa Bay.
