[Fukuoka-Hakata] A popular motsunabe restaurant visited by celebrities

I went to Maedaya Sohonten, a super popular motsunabe restaurant that can only be found in Fukuoka.

Fukuoka is famous for its motsunabe.

Maedaya is especially popular, so it's hard to get a reservation!

As soon as I decided to go to Fukuoka, I checked the availability of seats online to make a reservation, but the day I wanted to go was marked with an X.

It's incredibly popular, even though it's a weekday.

I called the restaurant directly, hoping for the best, and was somehow able to make a reservation.

The staff member who answered the phone was also very friendly, and used language that made me think it was a high-end restaurant.

This really raises expectations!

And then, on the day of my visit.
My reservation time of 5:00 p.m. was the opening time for the evening session, but there was already a line in front of the restaurant.
It seems that people who weren't able to make a reservation had been lining up before the restaurant opened in search of a seat on the day.

I entered the restaurant excitedly.
The interior of the restaurant has a bright, Japanese atmosphere with a wood-toned interior.

I was shown to a counter seat and immediately toasted with beer.
The squid shumai that came as an appetizer was delicious!

My expectations rose even more lol

Next, the special horse sashimi from Kumamoto Prefecture and live squid sashimi that I ordered came out at just the right pace.

And finally, the main dish of motsunabe.

It was so delicious.

The dishes were really satisfying!

At first, I was a little disappointed that I had to sit at the counter and enjoy the motsunabe, but I was able to enjoy the squid and watch the kitchen, so it turned out to be the best seat♡

On the way, when I went to the restroom, there were a lot of signatures of famous people lined up on the wall in the corridor.

I had already checked that my favorite group had come here, so I was excited as I passed by, thinking that they must have been eating in a private room around here♡

The time for the Shinkansen was approaching, so I said thank you for the meal at a reasonable place and walked to Hakata Station.

I enjoyed the delicious food while doing a little bit of my favorite activity, and it was the best end to my trip to Fukuoka.
