Did you know? Kyushu, Japan, is about the same size as Taiwan. It has diverse natural resources and cultural landscapes from north to south. There are many scenic spots worth exploring, so it is definitely not something that can be visited in just a few days. For tourists who are still in the initial stage of getting to know Kyushu, most of them will start with "Fukuoka" in Kitakyushu! This time we started driving by ourselves after entering Fukuoka Airport. We went to Yufuin and Kumamoto along the way and then back to Fukuoka. For the Kagoshima part, we chose to take the Shinkansen to Fukuoka! The advantage of self-driving is that you can flexibly adjust your itinerary and explore delicious food and attractions.
What is particularly special is that we have arranged to visit Sakurajima, located in Kagoshima Prefecture, the southernmost tip of Kyushu. It is one of the few active volcanic islands that tourists can visit. In order to make tourists feel more at ease, this time we will briefly introduce "Sakurajima" The island's volcanic eruptions and historical information will also be recommended, as well as self-driving itineraries and other transportation methods around the island, so that everyone can dominate all the must-visit attractions on the first visit. Not only are local residents living on the island, there are also hot spring hotels specially designed for tourists, and the tourism facilities are very complete.
To get to Sakurajima from Kagoshima City, first take a local bus or a local bus from Kagoshima-Chuo Station for about 15 minutes, get off at "Suiyakan-mae Station", and walk for about 5 minutes to "Sakurajima Ferry" Terminal (Kagoshima Port)", and then take the "Sakurajima Ferry" from the port to Sakurajima in about 20 minutes. It is recommended that tourists take advantage of discount tickets, such as the "Nishitetsu SUNQ PASS" which allows unlimited rides on most buses in Kyushu within a specified period, and the route bus from "Kagoshima Chuo Station" to "Aquarium-mae Station" Within the applicable scope, help save transportation costs!
