A Buddhist holy place in leisurely time

#FukuokaItinerary
In Tochoji Temple in Fukuoka, this thousand-year-old temple stands quietly in the bustling city, like a spiritual haven. Walking into the temple, the spacious courtyard and quaint wooden structure give you a sense of tranquility. There, the fresh air is filled with the scent of sandalwood, which makes people involuntarily indulge in it. I walked slowly up the stone steps, listening to the chanting of Buddhist scriptures in the wind, as if I was having a conversation with the beliefs of the past. The Buddha statues in the temple are lifelike, especially the ten-meter-tall statue of Sakyamuni, which radiates a peaceful glow and makes people feel deep awe and peace. After sitting quietly for a while, the distracting thoughts in my mind gradually dissipate, leaving only the joy that comes with this tranquility. Every corner of Tochoji Temple seems to be telling a story of history. When I walked out of the temple gate, the afterglow of the setting sun shone on the ancient buildings, and I couldn't help but sigh: This is not only a temple, but also a place for people to find their inner selves.
