
The Nanshan Waterfalls of the Yaoli Scenic Area, located in the Wanghu Ecological Tourist Area of Yaoli Ancient Town, comprise four waterfalls: Nanshan Waterfall, Shihua Waterfall, Feilong Waterfall, and Piaojin Waterfall. The waterfall complex stretches over 400 meters, with a drop of 220 meters, and the main waterfall is 70 meters wide. The four cascades of the Yaoli Nanshan Waterfalls connect end to end, descending in rapid succession, appearing and disappearing intermittently. Each of the four waterfalls in Yaoli offers a unique and captivating experience.
Here, there are renowned ministers and scholars, as well as renowned scholars who wandered the Jiangnan region. The bustling crowds of people and the passage of time have enriched the ancient road with countless legends. The area has seen significant porcelain production throughout various historical periods, reaching its peak during the Song, Yuan, and Ming dynasties. It is one of the three major kiln areas of ancient Jingdezhen.
Numerous kilns were established in Yaoli, leaving behind a wealth of kiln relics. The Raonan Lishutan deposits are among the most representative sites discovered in the world, with their cross-sectional features. Firing dates from the mid-Tang Dynasty to the mid-to-late Ming Dynasty. Yaoli porcelain production primarily focused on producing raw materials for ceramics, supplemented by the processing of everyday porcelain for civilian use. De'erba porcelain stone and its processed glazes were the primary ceramic raw materials used in Jingdezhen. A popular saying circulated: "Kaolin clay, Yaoli glaze."
