Fukuoka Castle Ruins

The Fukuoka Castle Ruins are the remains of a castle built by Kuroda Nagamasa in the early Edo period. Although only some stone walls, moats, and ruins remain today, you can still feel the grandeur and historical value of the castle. The Tenshudai within the castle is the best vantage point, offering a panoramic view of Ohori Park and Fukuoka City. Every spring, the cherry blossoms in the castle and Maizuru Park create a stunning scene, attracting many visitors. Additionally, this is a great spot for history enthusiasts, with display boards introducing the history of Fukuoka Castle and the background of the Kuroda family. At night, some areas of the ruins are illuminated, creating a tranquil and mysterious atmosphere. Compared to other famous Japanese castles, the Fukuoka Castle Ruins may be smaller in scale, but it is still a cultural site worth exploring, especially for those who appreciate history and a peaceful environment.
