Tojoji Temple

Tochoji Temple - A temple with a large wooden Buddha statue, located in the heart of Hakata. Inside the temple, there is a 5-story red pagoda, which is quiet. The architecture of the temple is very beautiful. The temple has a garden in front where you can take pictures.
It is near Gion Station, just a short walk away. There are not many tourists. You have to go up to see the Buddha statue on the 2nd floor. There is a 50 yen fee per person, but it is very worthwhile. The interior is beautifully decorated, but taking pictures is prohibited upstairs. There are also restrooms available.
