Day 2 of a 1-night, 2-day trip in Fukuoka. I wake up at 5:30 AM at a hotel in Itoshima City, with a view of Kyushu University. By 6:00 AM, I finish getting ready and head to the large public bath for a morning artificial hot spring soak. At 6:30 AM, I join breakfast.
The chef arrives at 7:00 AM. There’s an omelet, but I only take a look. 🤣 At 7:10 AM, I check out and rent an electric bicycle. Although rentals start at 9:00 AM, I had arranged it during check-in the previous day.
I travel about 11 kilometers to a tourist spot in the west where Iki Island is visible. I also collect manhole covers and climb a 200-meter hill. The view is fantastic. Then, I ride another 12 kilometers to Meoto Iwa, the symbol of Itoshima.
It’s crowded with groups, so I admire it from afar and cross a hill to reach Kyushu University, 9 kilometers away. I pass by Ichiran no Mori without stopping. At Tsutaya Starbucks on the Kyushu University campus, I take a 15-minute break.
On the campus, university students commute by bicycle. I blend in with the crowd like a Kyushu University student and explore various spots on campus. Being on a hill, the campus offers a view of Fukuoka City below.
At 11:00 AM, I return the bicycle and head to Meinohama for the first round of afternoon tea. The view includes a swimming pool and jacuzzi. Then, I move to Yakuin for the second round of afternoon tea. Finally, I head to Hakata for the third round of afternoon tea.
After completing three rounds of afternoon tea in five hours, I arrive at Fukuoka Airport’s international terminal at 6:45 PM. At 7:00 PM, I enter the lounge. At 7:30 PM, I board the flight and return home by 8:00 PM. I’m the first to exit the arrival hall. Thank you.
