Kushida Shrine where preparations for the Hakata Gion Yamakasa Festival are underway

Summer is coming to Hakata.

The Hakata Gion Yamakasa will be held from July 1st to 15th.

It is a traditional Shinto ritual that is registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

This year will be the first time the Kakiyama has been held in three years.

At Kushida Shrine, preparations for the Hakata Gion Yamakasa are steadily progressing.
