Day 1 Fuzhou: Where Tradition Meets Artistry
Upon arriving in Fuzhou, head straight to "Xianfeng Market" – though the seafood stalls and glutinous rice cakes might have lured you in through viral Douyin videos, the vibrant local atmosphere is genuinely captivating. Then explore "Three Lanes and Seven Alleys," avoiding the main street crowds to experience oil-paper umbrella making at the intangible cultural heritage hall in Anmin Lane, followed by sending a postcard at "Cat's Sky Bookstore." For lunch, try "Erlongbo Yuanxiao (Shangxiahang Branch)" on Daming Road, where the sweet yet light peanut soup pairs perfectly with crispy savory taro cakes. In the afternoon, stroll through the international architectural complex at "Yantai Mountain," where the ginkgo leaves carpeting the courtyard of "Stone Church" transport you to a European village. As evening falls, enjoy the light show along both banks during the "Min River Night Cruise," enhanced by traditional Min opera performances onboard.
Day 2 Pingtan: A Poetic Blend of Stone Houses and Windmills
Start your Pingtan adventure at "Monkey Island," gazing toward Taiwan from the 68 Nautical Miles landmark, with the sea breeze carrying its briny scent. For lunch, savor spicy salt-and-pepper mantis shrimp and mussel soup at a seafood shack near "Donghai Fairyland" – the freshness is mind-blowing. In the afternoon, bike along the "Most Scenic Island Ring Road," covering the 10km coastline from "Beigang Village" to "Changjiang'ao Beach," where turquoise waters meet silver sands on one side and lush fairy-tale landscapes on the other – every snapshot is postcard-worthy. As dusk falls, check into a "Mao Tou Qian" B&B, staying in stone houses featured in "Where Are We Going, Dad?" with starry skies and ocean waves just outside your window.
Day 3 Nature’s Bounty and Urban Farewell
At dawn, rush to "Elephant Trunk Bay," where drone shots capture the beach stretching into the sea like an elephant's trunk, transforming into a tidal treasure hunt at low tide. Back in Fuzhou, unwind at "Yuanmai Hot Springs" – the locals’ famed "bathing culture" lives up to its reputation. For your final meal, indulge in Buddha Jumps Over the Wall at "Juchunyuan," where the aroma from the clay pot enchants the neighborhood, and each bite is soul-stirring. Before departure, detour to "West Lake Park," boating under willow-draped banks to soak in the millennium-old garden’s serene elegance.
