is located within the 17th-century Galle Fort in Sri Lanka, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its design blends history, nature, and modern elements, creating a unique luxury experience. Formerly the New Oriental Hotel, its architecture is heavily influenced by the Dutch colonial period, and the hotel features a museum dedicated to its history. Now part of the Aman Resorts group, the hotel's design by Kerry Hill preserves the building's original features. The interior design makes extensive use of traditional Sri Lankan crafts and natural materials, such as wood carvings, stone carvings, and textiles, showcasing the local culture. The decor also incorporates many historical objects, such as precious souvenirs from the hotel's archives, immersing guests in a rich historical atmosphere. High ceilings, spacious public areas, and antique wooden floors are complemented by modern amenities and comfort. Rooms are distributed in different wings, with tranquil rooms found in the gardens. The lobby, known as the Zaal (Dutch for "hall"), is a tribute to the Dutch past, adorned with large mirrors and chandeliers. The outdoor pool is surrounded by feathery palm trees, and alongside are loungers inspired by the traditional Indian charpoi.
