🇱🇰Sri Lanka | Mirissa-Galle, the Blue Orange Sea

#holidayitinerary
Itinerary: Coconut Tree Hill
🚗 Stilt Fisherman🚗 Amangalla🚶 Galle Old Town (Stick No Bills® Asia Flagship Gallery, barefoot)

🇱🇰Experience: Mirissa and Galle were my two favorite cities on this trip. First, Mirissa. I read other posts on Xiaohongshu that the chances of whale watching are very low and there's a high risk of vomiting, and the most common sightings are dolphins. Since I've already tried sailing in Jordan and Egypt, I didn't include whale watching in my plans this time.

Coconut Tree Hill is a must-visit. I went both in the evening and early morning, and here's my verdict. Going early in the morning is essential, as the evening is backlit (the sea is dark and the sky is white)! It's also incredibly crowded, so you won't be able to take any good photos, unless there's a stunning sunset. When I arrived at 6:30 a.m., there were only two or three other people there. And when the sun rose at 7 a.m., the contrast between the coconut trees, the blue sky, and the red earth beneath them was absolutely stunning. You can also lie on the rocks surrounding the coconut trees and watch the ocean, where there were also many surfers. The fishermen with their legs crossed were a commercially staged photo shoot; I hired five fishermen for a total of 2,500 rupees.#travel #colombo
