When I explored the beautiful Gyeongpo area in Gangneung, it offered plenty of healing scenery and relaxing spots.
Gyeongpo Skybay Hotel & Its Beachfront
The Gyeongpo Skybay Hotel is truly a landmark in the Gyeongpo area; you can spot it from afar. Nestled perfectly between Gyeongpo Lake and the beach, it's known as a prominent high-end hotel in the region, rumored to have a fantastic infinity pool. I checked, and the price wasn't even that expensiveโaround S$120 per night, which is quite reasonable for what it offers.
The beach right in front of the hotel is incredibly comfortable, with soft sand and plenty of unique installations perfect for snapping some great photos.
Serene Pine Forest & Coastal Strolls
Coastal Pine Forest: Heading northwest from the Skybay Hotel, you'll discover a lovely pine forest. In the summer, strolling through this small forest is incredibly refreshing and provides a cool respite from the sun.
Shelly's Coffee: Continuing a few kilometers northwest from the pine forest, I found a small bridge connecting to a rocky outcrop that extends into the sea. This is another fantastic spot to relax and gaze at the ocean. Shelly's Coffee is perfectly situated to face this view, offering unbeatable ocean vistas.
Southeast Coastline: If you walk southeast from the Skybay Hotel, you'll come across numerous other sea-view hotels, guesthouses, and charming cafes. This stretch of beach is also ideal for swimming.
The Gyeongpo area truly offers a diverse range of experiences, from comfortable beaches and serene forests to stunning sea-view cafes, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing and "healing" trip!
