Gangneung Sacheon Beach & Sacheonjin Beach Travel Review 🌊
This summer, I went to Gangneung Sacheon Beach and Sacheonjin Beach with my kids. They had a blast playing in the sea for five hours straight! Each beach had lifeguards, so we could enjoy our time without worries. 🏖️
🏨 Accommodation
We stayed at Gangneung Confinence Ocean Suite. I booked it in advance through Trip.com, and despite it being peak season, the price was an unbelievable 249,000 KRW for two nights! Initially, I considered canceling, but later I saw the price had risen to nearly 800,000 KRW. I felt like I had hit the jackpot! I’ve decided to make early reservations next year as well. 👍
🍜 Day 1
As soon as we arrived in Gangneung, we went to a famous Jang Kalguksu (spicy noodle soup) restaurant. Honestly, it was too salty for my taste, so I ended up leaving most of it. 😅
After playing at the beach, we had dinner at Messi56. The kids enjoyed their free meal of grilled salmon and soup, while my spouse and I savored fresh sashimi bibimbap. We didn’t have to wait in line, and the food was definitely worthy of its reputation!
After dinner, we visited **Cafe ‘Got;’** located in front of Sacheonjin Beach. We took photos at the “Stairway to Heaven” photo zone, and the kids enjoyed Häagen-Dazs ice cream while the adults had plum pomegranate ade, coffee, and the signature chestnut bread. The chestnut bread was absolutely amazing, but unfortunately, the signature coffee was sold out. (We went back on the second day, but it was sold out again…😢)
🐟 Day 2
On the second day, we spent the entire day at Sacheonjin Beach. We explored the area behind the rocks across the stone bridge, where there were plenty of crabs and sea urchins. For lunch, we had BBQ chicken right by the beach!
Seeing my kids say, "I loved playing with mom all day," and falling asleep happily made me feel so fulfilled. 🥹
For dinner, we couldn’t miss the seafood combo of sashimi and king crab! 🦀 Even the kids loved the king crab.
After dinner, we returned to ‘Got;’ Cafe for some ade and watched fireworks before heading back to the accommodation for a snack party to end the day.
🍗 Day 3
On the last day, we visited a local favorite, Yujeong Duck, recommended by my friend who lives in Gangneung. Even before noon, the place was packed, mostly with locals. The kids enjoyed the food, and it was a perfect way to wrap up our trip.
⸻
💙 This Gangneung trip was perfect in every way—accommodation, food, and the beach. Seeing my kids happy made it even more special. It’s definitely a destination I want to revisit next year.
