Yichang 2-Day Nature Escape | Last-Minute Getaway from Wuhan

#discoverchina
Caught a spontaneous travel bug in Wuhan? Here’s how I made the most of two stunning days in Yichang — nature, waterfalls, and fairyland vibes included!

Day 1: Three Gorges Waterfall
Arrival
11:45 — Arrived in Yichang
13:30 — Met at Yichang East Station, boarded a shuttle to the waterfall
15:00 — Reached the Three Gorges Waterfall
(RMB 170 for 2 people, round-trip shuttle + ticket; excludes electric cart inside the scenic area)
Experience

The environment was quite nice, but a strange odor lingered (possibly due to ongoing renovations)
The waterfall? Absolutely majestic
Best moment: standing behind the waterfall, facing the sun — I saw a double rainbow
Though the waterfall didn’t seem that big from the front, walking behind it gave me that wow moment — it looked massive and magical from there!
Tip: Bring or buy a raincoat — you’ll get soaked in the best way!

Day 2: Qingjiang Gallery Scenic Area
Tickets
Shuttle: RMB 150
Entrance: RMB 230
Journey
09:00 — Took a small 9-seater shuttle (only 3 of us on board, super chill!)
10:00 — Arrived at the scenic area
Chose the "shadow painting" style tour route
Highlights

The scenery was surreal — the water was as green and clear as jade
Many spots are inaccessible by boat, so we hiked to a final dock for a short cruise on the river
Skipped some peaks (like Immortal Village) because we were too tired — but still, worth every step!

Return
15:30 — Headed back after a magical day surrounded by pure, fresh air and fairytale landscapes
