An admirable and ingenious design: Ganzhou Ancient Floating Bridge

Built during the Song Dynasty, the Ancient Floating Bridge boasts a history of over 800 years and is still in use. Made up of several small boats, it's used daily by thousands of people plying the Gong River. The best vantage point for a bird's-eye view of the bridge is from the Jianchun Gate, where the city wall rises and gazes down from the top. A drone is even better. The Jianchun Gate side of the bridge is lined with small boats selling fish, while the other side, once you reach the shore, is home to a plethora of stylish coffee shops. Walking on the bridge is surprisingly stable, with no noticeable swaying at all. The joints between the boats are secure. I suspect the bridge remains functional even during normal times, as boats wouldn't disperse, as the surface near the shore is already stagnant. However, the bridge truly exudes a sense of antiquity, and the ingenuity of its design from eight hundred years ago is truly remarkable.
