The Sun Wukong Shrine in Penang, Malaysia

Come and worship Sun Wukong, also known as Sun Kukong or as the Thais call him, Sun Wukong. He is a monkey god highly revered by the Chinese. This shrine is located in the Chew Jetty fishing village. Locals often bring offerings of bananas, pineapples, and coconuts to pray for business success and protection from obstacles and dangers. It is believed that Sun Wukong overcame many challenges to become an immortal and was able to retrieve the Tripitaka from India.
