The place is ChinaHouse in George Town, Penang — and if you love cake, this place is basically a dream come true.
I went in with high expectations after hearing all the buzz, and wow, their cake selection blew me away. Picture this: a long, beautiful cake counter stacked with over 30 types of cakes on any given day — rich cheesecakes, fluffy sponge cakes, gooey chocolate tortes, nutty carrot cakes… it’s overwhelming in the best way possible.
I ended up going for their famous Tiramisu, which is probably one of their most talked-about. It was moist, just the right amount of boozy, and had that melt-in-your-mouth texture that makes you close your eyes for a moment. Absolute perfection.
The second slice (because let’s be real — you can’t stop at one) was the Salted Caramel Cheesecake. Creamy, dense, not overly sweet, and that salted caramel drizzle? Magical. Every bite felt indulgent but balanced.
What I really love is how they don’t cut corners — every slice feels homemade with love, and you can taste the quality. Whether you’re a sweet tooth or not, you’ll probably end up finding your cake here.
Pair it with a good cup of coffee, find a cozy corner, and you’ve got yourself a perfect afternoon in Penang.
