
The Xiaoyaoguan Scenic Area, located at the foot of Kongtong Mountain in Qianjing Township, Yuzhou City, is the site of Emperor Huangdi's visit to the ancient philosopher Guangchengzi. A Taoist temple, it is said that Emperor Huangdi sought the Dao from Guangchengzi and attained immortality. The temple still retains numerous ancient buildings from the early days of the People's Republic of China, and its layout is meticulously arranged according to the terrain.
It is impossible to verify the year when Xiaoyao Temple was first built. According to the remaining Ming Dynasty inscriptions on the temple, it was already a large-scale and famous Taoist activity center at least in the late Ming Dynasty.
