Wandering Through Lindau, Germany

#hellohalloween

Exploring Lindau Island doesn’t need an itinerary — just a pair of comfortable shoes and time to wander. We spent the day strolling through cobbled lanes, soaking in the charm of pastel houses, flower boxes, and the gentle hum of island life.

The Marktplatz (market square) was our first proper stop — a colourful, lively space surrounded by historic façades. In the centre, there’s even a huge sandpit where children can play while parents sit with a coffee, which made it feel more like a lived-in village than a tourist stop.

From there, we followed the winding streets down to see the famous Altes Rathaus, through the shopping streets full of gelato stores and back to the promenade area, where the lake sparkled between boats and mountain views. It’s peaceful, postcard-perfect, and full of small details that make Lindau so special — a place to wander slowly, not rush through.
