Gifu Castle is located in Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture, on the top of Kinkayama Mountain, which is 329 meters above sea level. It was one of the residences of Oda Nobunaga, a famous general in the Japanese Warring States Period, and was originally named Inabayama Castle. Although the existing castle tower is a concrete building rebuilt in 1956, its location and historical background are very representative, and it is a key base for understanding Nobunaga's concept of "spreading military power throughout the world".
From JR Gifu Station: take a bus to "Gifu Park and History Museum" (about 15 minutes); walk from Gifu Park to Kinkayama Cable Car Station for about 5 minutes; take Kinkayama Cable Car (about 3 minutes); walk from the top of the mountain station to the mountain trail for about 10 minutes to reach Gifu Castle Tower.
I personally recommend that you can go there for a walk, but it takes more time, and it is recommended to spend about 3 hours.
