Explore The World Famous Harry Potter Cloisters At The Stunning Gloucester Cathedral 😍

If you’re into Harry Potter then this is for you, if you’re just a big history buff like me then this is also for you! The stunning Gloucester cathedral is one of the most immaculate architectural gems in England and has quite rightly been the set of many films and tv shows, most notably three of the Harry Potter films.

The world famous cloisters and courtyards are instantly recognisable from the films and draw big crowds. The stain glass windows are some of the most ornate in the country and the cathedral roof is really unbelievable.

The cathedral has been very well restored and about 80% of the buildings footprint is open to visitors. There’s also a lot of information available about the buildings history, who is buried there and the various uses over its time.

The cathedral asks for donations on entry or exit but these are not compulsory, so technically the cathedral is free to visit! Donations help restore the cathedral but due to its religious nature it is not a forced donation. Purchases from the small gift shop also help to subsidise restoration!
