Qinghai Lake, also known as Koko Nor, is the largest saltwater lake in China. It is located in the northeastern part of Qinghai Province on the Tibetan Plateau, at an elevation of about 3,200 meters (10,500 feet) above sea level. The lake covers an area of approximately 4,400 square kilometers (1,700 square miles), although its size can vary depending on seasonal and climatic changes.
