Hot Air Balloon Ride Over the Valleys of Cappadocia to Watch the Sunrise

Experiencing a hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia is definitely a must-do when visiting the region.

Cappadocia's unique terrain was formed by lava from volcanic eruptions and shaped by natural erosion, creating bizarre landscapes, valleys, folded mountains, winding rivers, and scattered towns—all visible from a bird's-eye view. It was once selected by National Geographic as one of the top ten natural wonders on Earth. Its terrain resembles the surface of the moon, and it served as a filming location for Star Wars.

In the early morning, numerous hot air balloons of various colors fill the sky, creating a magical fairy-tale scene. If you don't have the chance to ride a hot air balloon but happen to stay near one of the launch sites, you can get up early to take some photos—almost every shot can serve as a postcard.
