Nothing quite prepares you for the moment you lift off above Cappadocia at sunrise — the quiet whoosh of the burner, the cool morning air, and that surreal feeling of floating over a landscape carved by time.

As the sun began to rise, the valleys below started to glow — soft pinks, golds, and dusty orange bouncing off the fairy chimneys and rolling hills. Dozens of other balloons drifted around us, each one a splash of colour against the dawn sky. It didn’t feel real. It felt like a dream you never wanted to wake up from.

There was this peaceful stillness up there — no crowds, no sounds except the occasional burst of flame. Just space, light, and perspective. From that height, you get a true sense of how wild and otherworldly Cappadocia really is.

The flight lasted around an hour, but it felt timeless. We touched down gently and were greeted with a little celebration — certificates, smiles, and a glass of bubbly to toast one of the most magical mornings of my life.
