A Heavenly Stay at Lux in Mauritius

Mark Twain wasn't far off when he remarked that "Mauritius was made first, and then heaven, and heaven was copied after Mauritius." This breathtaking, friendly, and diverse country, combined with Lux, offered one of the best hotel experiences we could find. My wife Naomi and I stayed for 10 days at the start of March and truly cherished our visit. Sandeep warmly greeted us upon arrival and every morning thereafter. The staff receive endless accolades, and it’s easy to understand why—our experience was consistent with countless others. Everyone was genuinely gracious, attentive, and radiated warmth. Although resort vacations aren't usually our first choice, we needed a relaxing environment to unwind from our hectic jobs, and Lux met all our expectations. Long, leisurely breakfasts with plenty of croissants were particularly delightful! Personally, being active, I might have gone a bit stir-crazy without the driving range, gym, tennis, and padel courts. These facilities were in excellent condition and easy to enjoy. We suggest renting a car to explore, as there are no nearby restaurants or bars within walking distance if you desire variety. Nonetheless, the rest of the island is certainly worth seeing. Returning to the fantastic location and room at Lux each day was the perfect finishing touch. We extend our warmest regards to all the staff. George and Naomi Barnes (née Davies) - Wales, UK.
