The Great Smoky Mountains are pure magic, with their misty blue ridges and endless layers of forest stretching into the horizon. I visited in the fall, and the colors were absolutely stunning — fiery reds, oranges, and yellows painting the mountainsides. Wildlife is abundant here too; I spotted black bears, wild turkeys, and deer during my trip. Hiking to Clingmans Dome for sunrise was unforgettable, with the world bathed in soft golden light. What makes the Smokies so special is the sense of calm and timelessness they give you.
