The mountain lake Bachalpsee is a popular hiking destination accessible from the Grindelwald-First station. Known for its clear waters that reflect the surrounding Swiss Alps, the lake is at an elevation of 2,265 meters (7,431 feet).
To reach Bachalpsee, first, you need to get to the Grindelwald-First station via cable car. The most common route is from the town of Grindelwald.
From Grindelwald to First: Take the scenic 25-minute gondola cable car ride from the village of Grindelwald to the Grindelwald-First station. The gondola makes stops at the Bort and Schreckfeld stations.
