Hidden human paradise in Southern Anhui! Guangde, a small town at the junction of three provinces, is really perfect for escaping crowds with kids~Just a 2.5-hour drive from Nanjing, the mountain roads wind along, bamboo forests stretch like seas, streams are crystal clear, and occasionally you can see smoke rising from farmhouse chimneys. It’s like a real-life “Southern Anhui Sichuan-Tibet Route”! The biggest surprise is that during the National Day holiday, traffic is light and the roads are clear, making traveling with kids completely stress-free.
🏨 Accommodation Recommendation: Paloma Yunmeng Valley Luxury Wild Resort Hotel
The hotel is nestled in a mountain hollow, gently embraced by surrounding mountains. Our three families booked three-bedroom standalone villas together, with rooms arranged around a small courtyard where kids can run and play. Unfortunately, the outdoor hot spring pool was closed due to the season, but the atmosphere of watching the mountains on sunny days and listening to the mist on rainy days was still perfect~Note: the villa’s common areas are small, and the dinner flavors are rather average, so it’s recommended to try authentic local dishes at nearby farmhouse restaurants.
📸 Photo Tip: Suoshan Bridge in Matianli
A 15-minute drive from the hotel, there is a quaint stone bridge—Suoshan Bridge. Although there are no developed attractions nearby, the stream under the bridge flows gently. In summer, you can wade and play in the water, and it’s a great spot for photos! Perfect for letting kids experience the tranquility of the mountains.
🎢 Family Fun: Yunjing Niushan Tourism Resort
This place is a paradise for kids! Cliff swings, rainbow slides, glass plank roads, sky mirror… so many attractions. Unfortunately, it rained when we visited, so the rainbow slide and cloud speed descent were closed. But the mist swirling around the mountaintop made the cliff swings less scary, and the kids enjoyed it even more~The park was uncrowded with no lines, offering a much better experience than popular tourist cities!
Although we missed Ling Mountain Grand Canyon and Taiji Cave due to the weather, the slow pace of three days and two nights was already healing enough. Guangde, see you next time on a sunny day!
