If you want to taste new Hunan cuisine in Guangzhou or Shenzhen, Lao Ma Que is a place you cannot miss. This time I went to "Lao Mahjong" located in Sunac Huadu, where I ate high-quality ingredients and enjoyed good service, which added color to my journey. Some of the signature dishes I tried at Lao Mahjong:
First up is the crab roe tofu. This dish has a dense texture, the tofu is soft and smooth, and the aroma and taste of the crab roe blend together, leaving a lasting aftertaste. It is a dish that is very suitable for eating with rice.
Next was the Queyuan Honey Lotus Root. This dish uses fresh lotus root, which has moderate sweetness and a crispy skin. It is paired with glutinous rice and osmanthus honey, making it irresistible. And this dish looks very beautiful too.
Hand-shredded crispy chicken is one of my favorite dishes. This dish is mainly based on crispy skin with a crispy texture, while the chicken is tender and juicy, making people salivate.
The handmade shepherd’s purse fish balls are another dish that amazed me. The fish balls are very elastic, and the fragrance of shepherd’s purse makes you want more.
The last one is the mugwort cake. This snack has a dense texture, the aroma of mugwort wrapped with black and white sesame fillings. It has moderate sweetness and is very suitable to be enjoyed as a dessert.
Overall, "Lao Mahjong" is a place worth trying. Their dishes are authentic, delicious and affordable, making them a great place to go with family and friends.
