#Guangzhou Attractions

Guangzhou City God Temple is located at the intersection of Zhongshan 4th Road and Wende Road, adjacent to Beijing Road Pedestrian Street. The temple was built in the third year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1370) to worship the guardian god of the city. It was upgraded to "Duchenghuang Temple" during the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty. It was the largest city god temple in South China during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The existing building was rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. Only the main hall and the worship pavilion are preserved, still showing the thickness and solemnity of history.
