Rosewood Hotel Experience on the White Cloud in Guangzhou

Last time I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental in Guangzhou, this time I went to the Rosewood Guangzhou Hotel under the New World Group - which was selected as the second most beautiful hotel in Guangzhou by Trip.com in 2024.

Room type: River view room
Recommended: ⭐️⭐️
Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Transportation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Downstairs of the hotel is the K11 shopping mall, which specializes in relatively high-end products. The underground street passage connecting Huaduhui has many food and choices. There are also APM and subway stations a little further away. However, some of the passages are not air-conditioned, so you will be sweating when you walk there in the summer.

The hotel lobby is on the 95th floor. It is relatively small and has no special decorations. It is relatively ordinary.

Except for the lobby, the decoration of the hotel tends to be dark and dark. From the elevator to the corridor to the entrance of the guest room, I feel a strong sense of Chinese oppression, which is a bit uncomfortable. The elevator takes time to go up and down, so there are seats, but there are only seats in the first section, and there are no seats in the next section.

The welcome fruit is placed by the window, only ordinary apples; Lindt chocolate is given as a gift every night at turndown service, and the wires are tied up, but they are tied more appropriately.

The sense of space in the guest room is quite good. I especially like the design of the ceiling light trough, which feels very thin and light.

The scenery at night is still OK, but the one in the middle separates the glass. When I asked the staff, they said it was not a pillar, but this is not a question of whether it is a pillar or not, but it does not look good when taking pictures. It really ruins the scenery. .

The carpet in the room is also a safety hazard. Because it is not a single piece, it should be strong. I almost tripped over the carpet in the room when I came in, and almost tripped over another piece of carpet when I left the room. It is really dangerous if there are children in the room, and I hope the hotel can make more improvements.

All in all, apart from the relatively high number of floors, the overall experience of the hotel is not at the level of a five-star hotel. Personally, it is not highly recommended.

P.S. Booking in advance is more expensive than booking on the same day. Although Trip.com refunded the price difference in the end, it made the overall impression even worse.
