Yuexiu Park, Guangzhou, Jan 8, 2025

Yuexiu Park in Guangzhou has a history of nearly 100 years since 1927. Yuexiu Mountain is actually an extension of Baiyun Mountain, with the highest peak at an altitude of more than 70 meters, which is actually just a small hill. Historically, it was once called Yuexiu Mountain, Yuewang Mountain, and Guanyin Mountain, and is the starting point and symbol of the traditional central axis of Guangzhou. Today's Yuexiu Mountain is composed of 7 small hills and three artificial lakes. It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction, one of China's top 100 famous gardens, and one of the eight scenic spots in Guangzhou.
What impressed me most was that Yuexiu Park has a very high greening rate. Except for the stairs and roads for people to walk on, other places are all dense green. Now there are many cultural relics in the park, such as the Sun Yat-sen Monument, Zhenhai Tower, and the Ming City Wall of Guangzhou, as well as representative buildings from different historical periods, such as Yuexiu Mountain Stadium and Yuexiu Mountain Water Tower. There is also a symbol of Guangzhou called the Five Rams Statue, so Guangzhou is also called the City of Rams.
Entering from the main gate of the west gate, the decorations for the New Year Flower Fair and Lantern Festival have already been set up here. We walked along the tree-lined path to the Friendship Garden of Guangzhou and Los Angeles, which is a small hill. This small mountain path is actually called the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Although it is January in winter, the air in the mountains is very fresh, and there are tall green trees and vegetation everywhere. It is very pleasant to walk in the morning.
