If you’re in Guangzhou and looking for an unforgettable meal, 榕意川味之美 ("Ease, the beauty of Sichuan flavors") is the place to be. This Michelin-selected restaurant specializes in Sichuanese food, and trust me, it’s a flavor explosion you don’t want to miss. Plus, it’s surprisingly affordable—around 100 RMB per person for a feast! Conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Wuyangcun Metro Station, it’s easy to get to and totally worth the trip.
Here are my personal favorites, building up to some showstoppers:
- Sichuan Cold Noodles: A perfect starter with a sweet-spicy kick—it’s refreshing and sets the tone for the meal.
- Garlic White Meat: Thin slices of boiled pork and cucumber, drenched in a bold, garlicky sauce. Light yet packed with flavor.
- Hand-Torn Cabbage: A simple, homey dish that’s surprisingly addictive—great for sharing as the hot dishes arrive.
- Sour Soup with Sliced Beef: A warm, tangy broth loaded with tender beef, enoki mushrooms, and chewy potato noodles. Comfort in a bowl!
- Squirrel Fish: The star of the show! A whole crispy fish served with a tangy sweet-and-sour sauce that’s pure magic.
Every dish is a celebration of Sichuan flavors, and the vibe is warm and welcoming. Don’t miss this gem—it’s a feast for your taste buds and your soul!
Address: Unit 112A, Yinbao Building, 289 Art Park, Guangzhou Avenue Middle (Dongxing North Road).
