Strolling through the cobblestone paths of Taikoo Warehouse, it feels as if time has stood still in old Guangzhou. This century-old warehouse by the river has witnessed the bustling history of Guangzhou as a significant port on the Maritime Silk Road. The red brick walls and old iron windows are marked by the passage of time, yet the infusion of cultural creativity adds a fresh touch, creating a unique charm that blends the old with the new. As the river breeze gently blows, I lean against the dock, gazing at the tranquil flow of the Pearl River, carrying echoes of history into the distance. Inside the warehouse, the cafes and exhibition halls are imbued with modern cultural vibes, allowing one to savor tea while reflecting on history. I paused at a photography exhibition, where the black-and-white images of old Guangzhou street scenes resonated with the warehouse's sense of history. As night falls, Taikoo Warehouse lights up with warm yellow lights, and the boats by the river sway in the light, immersing the entire scene in a gentle atmosphere. At this moment, I seem to feel the soul of Guangzhou, where the ancient and the modern coexist, evoking a sense of longing.
