Exploring Chaozhou cuisine in Guangzhou, we discovered Xichu, a newly opened Chaoshan restaurant hidden away in Taikoo Wharf in Haizhu District. Located on Jinsha Road in Haizhu District, Xichu is close to Taikoo Wharf and conveniently located just a 500-meter walk from Shayuan Station on Metro Line 8.

The restaurant's deliciousness rating is 🌟🌟🌟, and the food is excellent. The decor is chic, the space spacious and comfortable, and the average cost per person is approximately ¥75, making it a reasonable value.

The restaurant's raw and marinated combination is a must-try Chaoshan specialty, known as the "Chaoshan poison," with a delicious flavor that leaves a lasting impression. The raw marinating method preserves the savory flavor, and compared to the drunken shrimp in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, it emphasizes a more "fresh" experience. Oyster omelets are a traditional Chaoshan snack, and during oyster season, this dish is a must-try. We happened to try this delicacy during oyster season and were struck by the Chaozhou people's respect for ingredients and their pursuit of flavor.
