Guarding the sea: the splendor and tranquility of Nansha Tianhou Temple

#Guangzhou Attractions
Walking through the Tianhou Temple in Nansha, Guangzhou, it feels like traveling to a holy place of faith on the sea. The majestic and magnificent palace is backed by Lotus Mountain and faces the Pearl River estuary. It is like a silent goddess of the sea, offering protection to travelers and fishermen passing by. As you enter the main gate, you will see exquisitely carved stone pillars and roofs with flying eaves and angles. Every detail demonstrates the ingenuity of Lingnan architecture. Climbing up the stairs, you will see the kind statue of Our Lady of Heaven standing high up, sacred and peaceful. Burning incense and praying in the main hall, the hustle and bustle and worries in my heart gradually dissipated, and were replaced by a rare tranquility and peace. Walking around the palace, the river in the distance and the courtyard nearby complement each other beautifully. The tree-lined paths seem to whisper ancient stories. When the afterglow of the setting sun shines on the Tianhou Palace, the entire palace is shrouded in warm golden light, making people feel that this is not only a place of faith, but also a harbor for the soul to rest.
