Liurong Temple or Temple of the Six Banyan Trees is an ancient temple in Guangzhou, built in 537 AD. It is notable for its octagonal โ€œFlower Pagodaโ€, which is almost 60 meters high. It looks 9 floors from the outside, but it actually has 17 floors inside. It is decorated with classical Chinese art. Another highlight is the main hall, which enshrines three bronze statues representing the past, present, and future. They are the largest bronze statues in Guangdong Province. The atmosphere in the temple is quiet and surrounded by nature, even though it is in the middle of a big city. It is suitable for those seeking peace and quiet and those interested in the history of Buddhist art.
