🌸 Brief History
Liurong Temple was built during the Tang Dynasty (537 AD),
that means it's over 1,400 years old!
The name "Liurong" refers to the six banyan trees that originally stood within the temple.
Although the original banyan trees no longer exist, the name and its sacredness remain.
The temple was once the center of the spread of Buddhism in ancient times,
and is also the current home of the Guangzhou Chinese Buddhist Association.
