Guangzhou Completely Surprised Me.

A city that effortlessly blends sleek modernity with deep-rooted culture - I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with it as quickly as I did.

The food scene? Unreal.

From delicious local cuisine (I had dim sum almost every day, and I highly recommend 点都德!) to incredible Western spots like Over Easy for brunch and Bistro for lunch (both run by the same talented team), there’s something here for every craving.

My favorite Cantonese dinner? Hands down, 大鸽饭 - every single dish was amazing. And if you're a hotpot lover, you're spoiled for choice with so many styles to try.

The nightlife is just as vibrant. Cool cocktail bars like Barising serve up creative concoctions, and the live music scene - especially the jazz bars - is full of real talent.

During the day, I’d unwind at my favorite cafe, Lilbees, which quickly became a little sanctuary for me.
